Courses

  • Social Media 101 & Theory
In 2020 it’s no longer a question of whether a brand should be on social media – it’s a matter of how well you can leverage the platforms to help achieve your wider goals.
  • Audience & Platform Analysis
There is little value in knowing who your audience is if you don’t know where to address it. This session has one main aim; to help you devise the perfect platform strategy for your respective audiences.
  • Paid Media 101 & Theory
Excelling in Paid Media can take your social presence to the next level – put simply it can help grow your community by targeting users that are interested in your page/brand/message.
  • Creative & Content Best Practice
We will touch on the three key things you need to consider when creating a 360-content strategy and how you can communicate these to your audience creatively.

Brought to you by the award-winning social conversation experts at Wilderness Agency, the Social Academy educates the next generation of social experts and supports teams to upskill.

We’ve created four half-day sessions to take your social knowledge to the next level. You can take single half-day sessions, full-day workshops (which include 2 sessions), or 2-day immersions
(consisting of all 4 sessions).

Brixton Finishing School

BFS is a FREE 10-week programme for 18-25-year-olds which delivers a premium learning experience for students through a mixture of lessons and real-world advertising experience. The aim is to find ‘under-represented’ groups in the creative industries with untapped potential (Multi-Cultural, Working Class, NeuroDiverse, Female) and give them a practical course of study.

Wilderness delivered two masterclass sessions for the 2020 cohort of students not only giving them insight into agency life but also setting them a practical task. As well as this Jamie Maple, Strategy Director, became a team leader supporting a group of students learning over 10 weeks shaping their response to a real-world industry brief.

The Industry Club

We started working with TIC in June delivering our first ‘lockdown and learn’ sessions as part of a free program they were offering to anyone in the industry. Since then we’ve been working with TIC to develop a new range of modules to give learners the skills, knowledge, and confidence to build a career in social media. They’ll learn all about social media strategy, how to manage online channels, and grow communities for a brand or business.

At a time when opportunities for young people are shrinking this is an incredible project to be a part of and something that we are passionate about at Wilderness.

We are absolutely thrilled that Wilderness is part of our alliance of #changemakers, joining us in our mission of nurturing underrepresented entry-level talent and disrupting the way the industry recruits.

Wilderness advised on social media strategy for the school, mentored, and hosted a class for 36 of our students, giving them an intro to the world of working in social media as well as some of their top tips on creating impactful brand campaigns.

Ally Owen - Brixton Finishing School

Jamie and the Wilderness team are our go-to people for training in social.

They ran a brilliant webinar for us in 2020 and are a key training provider in our Marketing Debuts Social Media and Community Management apprenticeship programme.

We only have great things to say about them.
