Senior Strategist – Amsterdam
The role reports directly into the Head of Strategy/Strategy Director.
You will take a leading role across your client portfolio and will manage the delivery of projects within deadlines to a high standard.
The goal is to ensure smooth client management and campaign delivery in order to identify areas where your team – where possible – can support the delivery of projects across the entire business.
You will manage and occasionally be expected to deliver content plans, social posting & community management, although the ultimate aim is to have Strategists/Junior Strategists deliver and for you to exact quality control and guidance.
You will manage creative budgets, internal briefing of the creative team, and client reporting alongside the Lead Strategist/Head of Strategy.
A key requirement is to support direct reports. Helping them to develop their key skills and working with Senior team to set a path for progression. You will be a vital conduit between the senior team and the Strategists – flagging any issues and having a firm understanding of their core responsibilities and challenges with their day-to-day tasks and client handling.
Areas of Responsibility:
Managing the delivery of strategic social media management across your client base. This includes but is not limited to: being across copy & comms, ads, brainstorms, briefing & feedback, reporting and monitoring budget allocation.
Supporting the development of your direct reports. Scheduling (at least) monthly 1-2-1 meetings with your direct reports, working with the senior strategy team and above to prepare quarterly performance reviews and team growth plans. This will include writing, setting and monitoring quarterly KPIs.
Preparing and leading regular client updates, calls and meetings and presenting reports. Feeding back to the wider team the outcomes and actions.
Taking an active role in the senior strategy team – attending weekly meetings, lending and seeking support where possible/needed.
Management of content creation with the in-house creative team; checking briefs, supporting your direct reports and the content team in order to create the smoothest process possible.
Detailed understanding of the company’s full client portfolio.
Setting a precedent and being an example to team members; time management, arrival times, quality of work, positive impact during team meetings, challenging assumptions and looking for solutions to challenges.
Sharing and presenting internal learnings with the wider team
Assist in seeking and securing new business opportunities and promoting the agency wherever possible.
