Project Manager – FTC 3-months
Wilderness has an opening for a contract Project Manager (3 month FTC) to join our team reporting to our Senior Strategy team. This is at a crucial time with a high profile client where we need to ensure the smooth creation of innovative and attention-grabbing work. We need to ensure that projects are in keeping with the work delivered to date and constantly pushing the agency’s standing further.
Project Managers are responsible for owning the creative process, working alongside our existing teams to execute a project from brief to delivery. They will work with the senior team to schedule work, ensuring the right talent is assigned to fulfil projects to the highest standards. Working hand-in-hand with the strategy, paid and creative teams the successful candidate will work across more than one campaign at a time and manage multiple third-party contractors, consultants and freelancers.
We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills who is a relationship-builder. We need the candidate to smoothly liaise with internal stakeholders – creative, strategy and paid teams – and Clients and external resource alike. We are looking for someone who is hard-working, diligent, organised and passionate about delivering the best results. We will be looking for someone with a fresh approach to tackling a project but who can seamlessly fit into our company framework while striving to review, generate and implement improvements to the current process.
The successful candidate will develop a close relationship with the client and be expected to proactively pursue opportunities while also being a dedicated team player. Creativity is a big part of the role and the project manager will be expected to be an active part of the discussions around creative executions and be able to manage expectations with the client and the team.
Areas of Responsibility:
Own day to day task management of client projects under supervision of Strategy Director and Senior Strategy team.
Take a leading role in shaping and progressing the efficiency of the team from project to project. Proactively identify and implement improvements to processes.
Manage the flow of internal communications, ensuring information is disseminated across the team as appropriate.
Full ownership for areas of responsibility; working autonomously, as part of a team, or overseeing others as required.
Client liaison when required, presenting project scopes, cost estimates and timing plans.
Cooperating with the strategy, paid and creative teams to ensure resource is planned effectively and efficiently.
Proficient understanding of technical specifications, with the ability to mentor others in this area.
Fully immerse into the client; learn and understand the challenges of the client and its position within the market.
Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Diligence, attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent time management skills and a good understanding of the shifting priorities required to meet ever-changing deadlines.
Comfortable managing multiple projects across multiple platforms.
Confidence communicating calmly and effectively and respond professionally in high-pressure and Client-facing environments.
Solid grasp of project budget management and scheduling – estimating, timings, costs and invoicing.
Confident and clear approach to external client relationships.
A creative approach – feeling comfortable working within a creative environment.
An appreciation and understanding of the creative process, social media and technology.
Ensuring statements of work with both clients and third parties are written with the appropriate level of rigor.
